Recent Research Partnership with Leading University

Apr 28, 2025

PETsys Electronics has established a new research partnership with one of Europe's leading universities to advance the development of novel detector technologies for medical imaging applications.

This collaboration aims to push the boundaries of what's possible in PET imaging, focusing on improving spatial resolution and detection efficiency.

PETsys Electronics at International Medical Imaging Conference

Mar 10, 2025

Our team recently presented our latest research findings at the International Medical Imaging Conference in Vienna. The presentation focused on our newest developments in readout electronics for PET detectors.

The conference provided valuable opportunities for networking with global leaders in the field and showcasing PETsys Electronics' innovations.

A new Industry in China adopted PETsys Technology

PETsys Electronics (www.petsyselectronics.com), a VC backed company (by Portugal Ventures), announced that it has signed a contract with a Chinese company for supplying a considerable number of PETsys ASICs (application specific integrated circuits) during the current year. This contract represents a total sale of about 1 million euros, corresponding to the adoption of PETsys Electronics technology by PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Industry in China. PET is one of the main tools for early cancer detection. After approval by the Chinese National Medical Products Administration, this PET scanner will be launched in the Chinese market. This will trigger a sustained increase in sales of PETsys Electronics over the coming years.

12 prototypes are being built using PETsys technology

12 PET scanner prototypes are being built using PETsys SiPM readout electronics, by 9 companies, some of which have already decided to adopt PETsys technology.
Companies building these prototypes are based in the US, China, Korea, Japan and Europe.
Other prototypes are also being built also by PETsys customers, for applications out of the PET space.

PETsys Electronics was distinguished by CERN

June, 2024 - PETsys Electronics was distinguished by CERN with the very exclusive CMS Industry Award 2024:

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research: "At CERN, we probe the fundamental structure of the particles that make up everything around us. We do so using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments".

CMS, the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment, is one of two large general-purpose particle physics detectors built on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland and France: "The goal of the CMS experiment is to investigate a wide range of physics, including the search for the Higgs boson, extra dimensions, and particles that could make up dark matter".
